Our Compromise

Our two companies, Gonzalez Reeds and Argendonax are deeply committed to caring for the environment.

Plastic in its minimum expression

Less single-use plastics

At Gonzalez Reeds we are against the use of single-use plastics. Our effort to reduce the use of them is evident in our packaging, which is reduced to just the protective cellophane of the box. We do not use individual wrappers or plastic reed holders.

A Gonzalez Reeds box

-0.9oz of plastic in the world

A box of 10 reeds with its plastic case and individual wrapper represents 0.9 ounces of single-use plastic. In addition, this plastic does not represent any function for the musician, since its purpose is only protection during transport. This means 0.9 useless ounces that are not present in Gonzalez Reeds products.

Ink free reeds

Since 2019

All the information you need to identify your reeds is laser engraved, which means you're not putting any artificial chemicals in your mouth. That also represents 0.52 gallons of ink per year that are no longer manufactured or disposed of.

Organic Reeds

From organic raw material

At Argendonax, which is our raw material division, we don't use any pesticides or chemical products. Our plantations are completely organic. That, added to the laser engraved reeds, means that the reeds you have are 100% organic. They are compostable, and won't produce any reaction to your skin.

Commited in every way

Also in what you can't see

In our companies we are constantly working to improve, not only in the quality of our products, but also in the impact we have. That is why we are adopting new behaviors to reduce pollution. We have recently begun recycling obsolete technology from our plants at dedicated facilities to reduce e-waste.
